As a child I was taught to knit by my Nana, but it wasn’t until I was completing my Fine Art degree that I started to introduce knitting into my practice & quickly became hooked. When I moved home after university to help my family with a business venture, a Dog focused Cafe and Outfitters, I began creating hand knitted dog accessories.

Being back at home, I got to spend more time with our family dogs; Archie (Labrador), Alice (boxer) and Norman (Miniature Dachshund) as well as becoming increasingly familiar with the dog retail industry.

Norman loves exploring but like many Dachshunds, is often cold, so needs a warm and cosy layer that he can freely move around in and with the help of a ball of wool & my trusty knitting needles, the luxury dog snood was born.

From this, continuing with the concept of comfort and practicality, more ideas developed and Hetty & Huxley’s luxury pet accessories began.
